Two Boots and Daffodils

We got two awesome shows this weekend, here's the details:

Safety Meeting Presents
Saturday, April 25th

at Two Boots
277 Fairfield Ave
Bridgeport, CT 06604
(203) 331-1377

It's a rarity that we bring these shows to Bridgeport, so if you're in the area, make sure to come down. The food's awesome, the show's going to be over the top, and it's an all ages show with beer! How awesome is that? In fact, I'd say this show is definitely worth traveling for. So hopefully we'll see you all there.

All Ages, 10pm, $5 cover

And then the next day, we're moving our operation up north to the Daffodil Fest in Meriden. Those of you who aren't familiar with the Daffodil Fest, here's the deal:
Meriden's Largest and most colorful festival the "Meriden Daffodil Festival" will celebrate it's 31st year during 2009. The festival will be held on Saturday April 25 and Sunday April 26, 2009. 600,001 daffodils can't be wrong! They create a sea of fragrant yellow blossoms throughout the 1,800-acre Hubbard Park in Meriden, Connecticut each year. You'll not only see an amazing 61 different varieties of daffodils, there will also be crafts, amusement rides, food, entertainment, and a fireworks display for you to enjoy. So mark your calendar - It's going to be a great time for the whole family! For additional information please call 203-630-4259.

Starting at 11am, M.T. Bearington, Titles, and The Mountain Movers are going to be performing, and we'll have a merch tent set up with all our wares on display, so stop by if you're attending.

All right, see you this weekend!

Daffodils, skeletonbreath, and The Black Hollies

Hey everyone,
With winter finally behind us, it's time to get outdoors to some festivals and take in some new music. Luckily, we got you covered. We got a couple new records coming out in the next month or two and a couple festivals coming up that ought to excite. Here's what we got:

Coming up in just a week's time is Meriden's Daffodil Festival!
Next weekend (April 25th and 26th) there will be tons of bands and festivities all taking place at Hubbard Park in Meriden. There's plenty of activities for the kids and grown ups, along with tons of bands (mostly from the CT area).
In fact, Sunday, April 26th, not one, but 3 bands from our camp are going to be performing for free. Come down early and catch M.T. Bearington, Titles, and The Mountain Movers. The bands start playing at 11 am (with M.T. going on first) and play throughout the day. It's bound to be a grand day out, so hop in your car and come down for the festivities!

In record news:

SMR014 is nearing the final stages of production and should be ready for consumption in a week or two. The catalog # in question belongs to Skeletonbreath. This is an instrumental project featuring the violinist from O'Death and members of Grandchildren. Their sound is pretty unique and has been refered to as:

"Not the raging metal band you might expect from the name, skeletonbreath is an innovative violin-bass-drums trio whose highly intricate instrumentals find the common ground between chamber music, Klezmer, and hard hitting art-rock"
-Time Out New York

"A twisted, slightly aggressive three man orchestra"
-The L magazine

"Weirdo stringsters skeletonbreath create stunningly intricate and melodious neo-classical compositions"
-Flavorpill.com

"Sounds like Humanoid goes to Israel"
-anonymous bar patron

And finally, on Saturday, May 30th, we'll be hosting an Ernest Jenning Recording Company mini-tour at Cafe Nine featuring The Black Hollies, La Strada, and Chris Mills. This show should be a lot fun and will get New Haven ready for the release of The Black Hollies' new Safety Meeting 45, featuring "Gloomy Monday Morning" on side A, and "Heart of the Country" (a Paul McCartney cover) on side B. We're rushing to have this ready for the May 30th show, so we'll keep you updated as to how that goes.

Thanks
Los
