New Mountain Movers' Record Out Now!
Hey everyone,
The new Mountain Movers record, "Let's Open Up The Chest" (smr013), is out and available for purchase. If you read any of the news postings prior to this, you're probably already well aware that this is an outstanding record filled with beautifully played wall to wall psych pop. So far, the reaction for this record has been very positive and as the next batch of incoming reviews happen, I'm sure it's going to be the same across the board.
Feel free to click the album cover below to be directed over to the Safety Meeting merch store (which ships worldwide, by the way), or feel free to pick it up off of Itunes or whatever your favorite MP3 may be.
We pressed 300 of these, hand numbered them, and included a CDR of the music in every sleeve, so make sure you act quickly!
Here's What Brian LaRue from the New Haven Advocate Says about this record:
The Mountain Movers, "Let's Open Up the Chest" (Safety Meeting Records). On this, their second full-length, The Mountain Movers ditch the horn-laden, airy Americana-rock of We've Walked in Hell..., ramp up the tension, turn up the guitar overdrive and move into mid-tempo post-psychedelic environs. Dan Greene sings about death, love, hope and dread, epic and existential concerns rendered immediate and relatable. It's the stuff of weird dreams right before waking, those dreams that spook you because they seem awfully significant and you can't quite figure out why. Greene tells his stories through efficient pop songs and though he occasionally sings a melody an attentive listener is pretty sure he's sung before, his craft is consistently admirable. In sound and lyrical content, this feels of a piece, as the debut did. It's an intriguing second chapter that makes one curious about the third.
