M.T. Bearington

Well, we're just a couple weeks away from the big release of the much anticipated M.T. Bearington record, "Cloak Of Nouns And Loss" (SMR011), and couldn't be happier. This record is pretty big on two fronts:
1. This is the new project from Weigh Down front man, Matt Thomas. "A Cloak Of Nouns And Loss" is a collection of Matt's bedroom recordings that provided the foundations of the bearington band, which some of you might've been lucky enough to catch opening for Mates of State at Toad's earlier this summer.
If you missed it, don't worry, they'll be taking the stage at
for a FREE RECORD RELEASE SHOW, on Sunday, September 14th
with Begushkin(Locust Music). Show starts at 9pm and is 21 and over only.
This is going to be really good stuff. Make sure to make it out for this.
2. M.T. Bearington's first record with Safety Meeting also happens to be our first release under the new format. That means, this is going to be our first full length vinyl release! I've only heard the test pressings, and I'm already starting to salivate. The tones are beautiful, there's warmth in the recording, and not to mention that Matt's harmonies resonate really well on vinyl. Also, we've gone ahead and made CDR copies of the record and included them in the sleeve for you. We figure this'll be easier than giving you a download coupon. I'm really psyched about this one, and once you hear it, I'm sure you'll understand why.
