The Big Mid July Update
It's been sometime, so here's what's what:
1. Going to Chicago this weekend to see the Pitchfork Fest, meet some people, and hopefully work some deals for Distribution and press. More on that when I get back.
2. The M.T. Bearington record, "A Cloak Of Nouns And Loss" (smr011), is off and being pressed. We should be getting it back in August, having a record release show sometime in early September. From now till then, the Bearington band is undergoing a lineup change and getting ready to bring M.T.'s bedroom recordings to life for all of us to enjoy.
3. The Mountain Movers' new record, "Let's Open Up The Chest" (smr013), is next up to be pressed, more than likely hitting the record shelves this October. The album was recorded by Mitch Rackin (Crooked Hook, Weigh Down) at Seaside Lounge, and mastered by Alan Douches (West West Side Music). It sounds amazing and I'm sure you'll all agree.
4. We struck a deal with Ernest Jenning Records and are set to put out the Charles Burst vinyl for his first full length release, "Come Home And Feast" (smr012). Charles Burst was the singer and drummer for the Occasion (their second record, Cannery Hours, is brilliant and totally worth your time to find and listen to).
5. And, finally, we have new T-shirts. Look for them at the next Safety Meeting Show. We got Travis Millard (Fudgefactorycomics) to come up with a design and it looks great. In fact, here's a photoshop mock-up of the design and color scheme.
