Just around the Corner...

Great News!
The Mountain Movers cd is finished and back at Safety Meeting HQ. We're all really psyched about this one, it sounds great and the packaging is fantastic! Keep your eyes open for the Mountain Movers CD release show (sometime in late October/early November). The CD is being released to the public on October 24th, but presale orders are starting on October 1st. As a special incentive to purchase the cd early, the first 100 copies sold will be packed with a limited edition poster of Dan Greene's art work.

In other news, Lord Fowl has decided to work with us on putting together an EP for SMR, most likely coming out sometime this winter. If you haven't heard Lord Fowl yet, go check them out. Their name is synonymous with rock! For more details and proof of rock, go to http://myspace.com/lordfowl, and give the Torturor a good listen, I'm sure it'll agree with you.

What happened to August?

Well, September's here and alot of you are probably wondering why you haven't heard from me in August. The deal is I was busy setting up the Mountain Movers project, moving Safety Meeting HQ, and working my butt off so that I can continue to put records out. So, now that I'm settled into the new spot on Norton St, it's back to business as usual.
Here's a quick update of what's going on:

1.The Mountain Movers project, We've Walked in Hell and There is Life After Death, is done and off to be pressed. You should see this starting to surface in late October/early November. We're all really happy about the way it's come together, and I think you'll all be psyched too.

2.Safety Meeting Records is now representing on lastfm.com. If you're not familiar with lastfm. go check it out. It's a free online program that tracks what you're listening to, and shows you people's profiles with similar interests, thereby introducing you to music you may not of heard of, but might like. Sounds confusing? Trust me, it's not, follow the link above and you'll see.

3. Crooked Hook is playing the I Am Festival in New London, on Saturday, September 16th. Believe it or not, this is a free festival, featuring some really great national and local bands. Check out the flyer below, it looks like a great time.
