Of Mountains and Apparel

Big News: The Mountain Movers (fronted by Dan Greene of the Butterflies of Love ) has decided to make a home out of Safety Meeting Records, releasing their first LP in the Fall, possibly entitled, "We've Walked Through Hell, and There is Life After Death". For those of you who don't know, the Mountain Movers have been charming people with their unique brand of narcotic pop for a couple years, appearing on stage with such bands as Wolf Parade and Josephine Foster, and writing beatiful pop songs with supernatural and psychedelic overtones that range from the dreary to the lively. Check back here for news regarding the new Mountain Movers' record, as it's due to drop in mid-Fall. For a sneak peak into what this record is going to contain, check out the Mountain Movers' myspace page, and take a listen to a couple tracks from the upcoming record.

Other Big News: T-shirts are finally for sale here on our merch page. Go ahead, check them out for yourself. we're talking natural color, 100% cotton, 150% pimp, Tee with the Safety Meeting logo tastefully centered on the chest. Studies have shown that people who wear the Safety Meeting Records t-shirts are more likely to win lotto, avoid parking tickets, and get laid like a ridiculous amount of times.

Holy Crap

What's all this about? Well, apparently, Witch (J. Mascis' new stoner rock project) backed out of the Blue Cheer show at BAR, so Crooked Hook is going on in their place. It's really unbelievable that a band of Blue Cheer's caliber is coming to BAR, and it's a tremendous honor for us to share a stage with them. Don't miss out on this show, it's due to be a great night of fuzzed out guitar rock with one of the first and greatest psychedelic bands ever.
